Sonic 4- Episode 2 official logo- Sonic is still ugly.

Sonic hasn't changed a bit since last time. He doesn't even look as good as he does in Generations or Colors. He still has the overall hateful, menacing expression with the huge dent between his eyes that makes him look pissed off, the smirk that's puckered in a way that makes him look even more tense, and the teeny tiny soulless pupils. All these thing coalesce together into a face that just makes Sonic look really dim and mean spirited.

Now, this isn't a case of "classic vs modern", mind you. A lot of newschoolers understand why Sonic 4 Sonic is ugly beyond belief, even if they like the way he looks in every other modern game. So, if it turns out most people can't stand the way he looks here, why couldn't they tweak him, like, at all for this game? I know it's just another chunk of the same game and there are some things they don't dare change, but... Ugh...

It's really disgusting. Why would they even give the game the title of Sonic 4 if it's not even a proper sequel.

Also, why can't they just use the Classic design for what's supposed to be OUR game? Damn Sega are stupid; even if they take a step forward they decide to dig a staircase back to their graves.

Modern Sonic's smile looks REALLY awkward in that picture. I've discussed that on another forum I go to, and they all pretty much agree. I like Modern Sonic and all (as I've said many times), but that... I'm sorry, but it does look ugly. They really could've done better with the promotional art for this game.

EDIT: Nickon pretty much said the bolded text, so I guess I'm channeling his spirit as I post this.

Give them some credit they remade the title screen of Sonic 2 in 3D Yippe (Sarcasm to the extreme)

It looks like they just pasted Sonic's head from Episode 1 onto another pose...kinda lazy if ya ask me. : / Though in that case, it might be a fan rendering, which I'm hoping is the case D:

I have to agree, this is probably one of the most disgusting rendering of Sonic I've seen. Especially that creepy as hell smile and the awkward eye wrinkle in the middle of his head. In fact, he looks like a complete a-hole in the picture, and not the loveable, cool blue blur we all know.

Tails is...okay. I perfered his appearance in Adventure.

Maybe overall, but there's still those little details that differentiate them.

For instance here, Tails' fur color is on the orange side, the body is more round, and his limbs are a tad more compact as a whole. It may be a difference in rendering, though. *shrug*

No it isn't, actually. In the original DC version of SA, the in-game character models weren't horrendously ugly, contrary to the artwork. Also, Tails looks fantastic in that screenshot from Adventure that Solar just posted.

Completely agree. Tails looks really great right there; unfortunately the standard dropped to a ridiculously low point after that.

Damn; now I see why the in-game models never bothered me.

I don't see how Tails is "ridiculously ugly", but then again I do prefer the modern designs over the classic, so I guess naturally I never took notice. Besides, all they did for the character models of the main characters (Sonic and Tails anyway) was edit their models from Sonic Jam.

Give em some credit at least the reflection is at the top of his eyes. And Modern's smile looks half assed I hate the Sonic 4 redention's of Modern screen shot.

I'd consider nothing as "Epic" so long as it comes out of that Sonic.
